We were lucky to catch up with Max DiNatale recently and have shared our conversation here and below.

Hi Max , so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

This is definitely an area I struggle in, because social media managers truly work 24/7. We have to be available at all times to respond, listen, be aware of what’s happening in the social space, etc. However, I love to go to the gym and go for walks to clear my head. I have to have a few dedicated appointments for myself that don’t involve work! (And I hate to admit, but decompressing at night with some trashy reality TV is always a good thing for me, too!)

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am the owner of Max DiNatale Digital Marketing located in Greenville, SC. We help solve clients’ problems in the digital space, particularly in the realm of social media. Whether they don’t know how it works, don’t want to know how it works, or simply don’t have the time, we do everything for them from A to Z! This includes strategy, content creation (photos, videos, etc.), caption writing, posting, growing their followings, and responding to all of their comments and messages. Our specialty is local, custom content – making a brand look and feel like who they want to be, instead of using stock images or the same graphics everyone else is using. We also offer other digital services such as paid advertising, influencer management, and more. We’d love to continue expanding to other markets outside of Upstate SC as well!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Build connections – You never know who is going to eventually become a great business connection, so get your name out there, continually promote yourself, connect with others, and keep in touch – you never know when someone will show back up in your life and need some of the services you offer! 
2. Trust your gut – If a potential client opportunity doesn’t feel like a good fit, don’t force it. You’ll be right in the long run.
3. Stick to what you do best – Don’t feel like you have to do everything. Get the help of others and build a strong referral network so you can focus on what you are amazing at.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

We love working with medium sized businesses, particularly in the restaurant, hospitality, and retail sectors. An ideal client would be a popular restaurant who is set on a growth pattern of opening multiple concepts, or a franchise with local stores who needs great local content, but also has the backing of a bigger enterprise.
